You CHUMPS might want to check the hotel
availabilty in Long Beach. The official hotel
still has rooms available.

A couple of relatives or mine were at the GatorNationals in Gainesville
Florida this past weekend. They usually book their hotel rooms far in
advance. But due to unforeseen events they didn't think they could go this
year even tho they already bought the tickets for all four days.

Anyway, it turned out they could go. So they searched and searched on
the computer for a hotel room in Gainesville. Turns out just about all of
them were sold out because of the Nationals. They were lucky enough to find
a hotel that had a room open. So they get down there and the woman behind
the desk says "no need to come in unless you have a reservation." They did
and all went well. Another woman came into that hotel all upset and angry
saying "what the hell is wrong with this city? Why can't I find a hotel
room?" Lady behind the desk says "have you ever heard of drag racing?
Gainesville has a big one this weekend."

You think any of the cities that the IRL race at ever have hotels packed
because of the race? Didn't think so. lol.

Also, doesn't the NHRA get good ratings on ESPN2? Everytime I read some
thing about the NHRA it's always positive and that ESPN2 is happy with the
ratings. Can the same be said about the IRL and ESPN? Didn't think so.

The IRL is not only below NASCAR trucks but it's also below drag racing
now. Crap, it's probably below that dirt bike super cross racing too. Good
job TG.

Do you have any idea how many competitors go to those drag racing events? I
think there are more than 500 entrants if you include all the classes beyond
the top four or five shown on television. I've been to Pomona a few times
and the trailers just go on and on. Amazing.

Who's talking about OWRS? We're talking about the failure of the IRL
and the failure of open wheel racing.

You just don't get it. It doesn't matter who wins the open wheel wars.
Open wheel is dead.

Nor does he get the fact that LB attendance is huge and lodging in the
area is unlimited. The IRL has had two races now and you don't find
more than a couple of posts from fans about racing and most of the
posts are about CART/OWRS. "What happened Tony?" you don't need a
fork to tell it is done.

Funnily enough over lunch I saw in SF Chronicle today they had points and
money won listed in the this order:

Nextel Cup

IRL

Busch

Trucks

NHRA

Hopefully they'll list Champ Car by next month.

Check it out, Bob. You can get a room across the
street from the track.

Checked tickets too. Blocks of 30-40 available in the
upper rows.

You are obviously unfamiliar with the greater LA area. The 300K+??? whatever
overall attendance is local. No one would for that matter even consider
lodging in LB. The options here are endless. You must be a country boy.

Indy hotels will be sold out for the 500, Brickyard 400 and the NHRA. I live
40 miles away from Indy and they are booked for those weekends.

I have never seen so much trash along the roads, on the beaches
and floating in the water. Your comment tells me you don't
get out of the shithole very often.

Of course when I aksed about the trash strewn along the
roadsides the local folks don't seem to notice it.

Hehehe. It hasn't been that long since SoCal had some near-riots by
the surfer boys when they shut down a humongous stretch of beach due to raw
sewage. What was that LA station on satellite? KGN? That was all they talked
about for a week. It was a nice change from the weather/pollution health
reports and the "remain indoors unless absolutely necessary" warnings. Can't
go outside, can't go swimming.....no wonder they slowly go nuts.

The only shithole on this list seems to be the one you use to speak.
