And recirculate OFF. You don't want to be using air that has extra
moisture in it from your own breath. You want outside air.

hmm. and I thought it was the other way around. I thought you wanted
recirculate ON so that you are not pulling moisture out of additional
outside air. Also, I thought that having the defroster on and the A/C did
the trick.

Try it sometime, see which works better.

Depends on how high the humidity is and the outside temperature.

Usually, if it's summer and it's raining, the humidity is pretty high
outside ;-).

I use the AC with defrost setting and recirculate. Many cars automatically
switch to recirculate and run the AC when you select defrost, but not my
Hondas.

I think the OP should check his/her car for rain leaks and possibly a
plugged AC drain line.

I heard that newer Hondas work that way.

No, newer hondas switch to outside air and turn on the the A/C when you
press defrost (and some of the older hondas too.... if they have automatic
climate control)

Also other brands of cars almost insist on outside air. I was in a 2000
dodge neon and when you turn the knob to defrost the recirc knob goes to
fresh.... it won't let you have recirc set and the defrost too.

I would be really surprised to find any car that automatically switches to
recirculate when you turn on the defroster. Most cars usually have a
comment in the owners manual that says something along the lines of "for
maximum defogging, turn the AC on and make sure recirculate is off".

What are the correct A/C settings for summer rain?

Make sure you do not have the air set to recirculate. Than can cause
problems.

Definitely not. You want outside, drier air, comring into your car. There
is quite a bit of moisture in your breath.
