Things like plastic body panels, amount of sound insulation, and engine mounts can make a big difference in perceived refinement.

Yep. Common knowledge around here for quite awhile. Saturn is contractually obligated to keep it very low key; there's no Honda label of any kind anywhere on the car, for example. I'm surprised that the auto show guy said anything about it.

	Acctually, Saturn used Honda's engine a while ago in some of their earlier sc models. GMs own engine in the car didn't live very long. (I forget the exact problem, but I think it was head gasket failure.)

The small Saturns had lost-foam cast 1.9L engines, SOHC and DOHC. Made, IIRC, in Tonawanda NY. No Honda engine like this comes to mind. The newer small Saturns have the GM Ecotec 2.2L engine. This is absolutely a GM engine. Tonawanda and Spring Hill. The LS used the same 2.2 or a GM U.K. supplied 3.0L-6.

Nope (well, at least I'm pretty sure it is "no"). The 3.0V6 was a GM engine made in the UK. It had been used for years in the Opel Omega. If you have a link to a reputable source that says otherwise, I'd be interested.

And no, the 3.0V6 is no longer available in the VUE. It is either the Honda 3.5-6 or the GM 2.2-4.
