Question about Main Relay

Jason 10 March 2005 00:28:22

My 1999 Honda Accord is ready for a major tune-up at the local
Honda Dealership. I follow their schedule related to service--even
if I don't always agree. For example, I think that it is not
necessary to adjust the valves during the tune-up. I usually tell
them to do everything except adjusting the valves.

I have seen many problems mentioned in this newsgroup and in many
cases the solution was to repair or replace the main relay.

During the major tune-up that will be done next month--should I
have them replace the main relay to avoid having problems with it
in the years to come.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX--55,000 miles (approximate)

I should note that I can easily afford it but won't have it done
if you say that it's a waste of money.

There would be no guarantee that the new relay will not get the same
problem.
