Saw a post concerning a problem with the TCC solenoid. One of the
recommendations was to disconnect the solenoid. How do I do this ?

Me: different car, different year, different transmission.
Specifically, 1989 Custom Cruiser with TH440R4. My TCC solenoid went
bad too. I do intend to replace it, but to keep the car driveable, I
disabled the TCC solenoid. To do this, I disconnected the four pin (I
think) connector on the side of the transmission and covered up the
connectors with tape to prevent exposure to the elements. The
transmission now runs properly, except that the transmission does not
lock up.
