need help with the easiest way to locate a vacuum leak  erik lewis 23:06:03 |
| | I have a 89 chevy camaro with manual transmission, a/c, 2.8 litre eng. when I move the slider to turn on my heater my idle will constantly rev up to @ 3500 and back down to 750 rpms like I am pushing on the gas pedal. As soon as I move the slider back to shut off the heater it goes back to normal idle. I know all my heater controls use vacuum to open and close flappers or doors, does anyone have a somewhat quick and easy way to locate exactly where this vacuum leak is. Remembering I will need to perform this task inside the vehicle as well as under the hood. thanks |

| | I have a 2000 k3500 7.4 4l80e that seemed to be working fine. Since it has 163000 on it and I am not sure of the maintenance history I would have the trans flushed and filter replaced. Now it has no converter lockup and the shop that did the work hooked a snapon tester unit up to it and they say the converter is locking up. How can I make sure the converter is or isnt locked up not just checking computer signals? Thanks mike |

| | Some of the 1995 4T60E transmissions have a reverse reaction drum that is not heat treated. These will come apart leaving you without reverse and in my case, unable to drive over about 25 mph. My friend tore the tranny apart and changed the reverse reaction drum. Parts of it were in the trans pan. The trans also made a lot of noise when it was broke, it sounded as if a hammer was banging on the case when the car was running in park. |

| | I own a 95 Corvette. I unplugged the ABS harness in order to disable the ABS system for a competition meet (this is a common proceedure by Vette owners). Since, I re-connected all the wiring, the ABS and Traction Control are working perfectly, but I can not get the ABS and Traction Control warning lights to go out. Two shops hooked up their diagnostic equipment to the car, and their equipment can not turn the light off either. My car has the OBD-I system with the 16 pin OBD-II ALCL connector. Anybody have any ideas? |

| | Hi all, have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L V6(K type). After a recent oil change engine is slow to accelerate to 50 mph then wont accelerate beyond that point. Flooring the gas pedal does not increase the rpms indicated by the tach, the engine doesn't really sound like its is revving up either. During the course of shifting up to 50 mph the tach never gets above 3,000 rpm. Upon trouble shooting I found that if I floor it from a complete stop the exact same thing happens but at 30 mph instead of 50. I am thinking transmission problem or possibly engine computer, but I am not experienced enough to know where to go from there...

| | My buick is making a knocking noise on idle. As it is accelerated, the knocking stops, but returns again as the car is braked. My husband replaced the belt and the noise stopped while the belt was off. When the belt was replaced, it started again. The air is not working. Could this be causing the problem. The knocking started after I turned on the air.
