Thank you for your kind reply...

Since I'm [still] on a dial up modem
it's just as well that TC's send didn't
get through.

I guess I'll just have to wait 'til Friday
and watch it on Speed!

That was pretty kewl of Shumie wearing
that jacket but judging from the colors
it prolly belonged to an Air Forceman.

Except for embassy guards there were
no Marines in Saigon... we fought in
I Corps, up north. Especially in that
time frame.

BTW: DISBO@PTD.NET will always
work... I'll amend my newsgroup addy
Semperssal@vvic.org right now.

His granfather had a jacket from the 3rd SS Totenkopf division; but that's
okay because we are Schumacher fans, right and M. Schumacher does not want
to feel left out.

It is a very upsetting time for Schumacher now, he cried like a girl before
the press conference. Hitler died 60 years ago this April. 30th and is
sorely missed by Miachael.

Interesting .. yes, now I think of it, it looks like a flight jacket.

In that case, I'm curious why the Air Forcemen might have used the words
from 'Definition of a Marine' - didn't they have their own poem-thingy?!

That's not a flight jacket...

They sold all sorts of embrodered jackets
and hats (etc.) at the stalls in Siagon and
the other big cities or "pacified" villes.

Phunny but...

I never heard of it as a 'Definition of a Marine'.

Although, it does seem to fit! ;>b

I looked on eBay & Google and grey seems to have been used most often on
flight jackets (that I found, anyhow).
You were there, I was not so I'll shut up. LOL

Oh? That's why I posted it in the first place. I Googled the words on the
jacket and found a few references to that particular title. And that's the
only place I found it.. on Marines pages.

Interesting none the less.

True...

But flight jackets were usually
made of satin or later, rayon?

...I've yet to meet a US Marine who would fit the description, much
less self-applied, of "drunkard".
