Obviously it's 3rd. When someone finish 1st, they get 1st place. When they
finish 2nd, they get 2nd place. But when they comes 3rd, they get on the
podium. Of course we all know that they all are on "the podium", but think
of it. If u raced and became 3rd, you would certainly describe it as "on the
podium" whereas if u came 2nd you had to say 2nd, just to distance youirself
from 3rd :-)­

It's the same in football. If in a WC you comes 2nd, you reached the finals.

Well thank you for that, may I say totally unexpected, reply. I am not sure
if we hit a language barrier or took a sense of humour bypass but it was
