Not as well as he did at Jaguar where he destroyed Pizzonia's reputation.

Williams needs to get some real drivers next year.

Well he was only one place down on Heidfeld. He did make two small
mistakes but also one very nice pass. I suspect his tyres suffered more
in those early stages behind Trulli than Nick, who was possibly wisely
hanging back and waiting. But really the car needs to be kinder to its
tyres and apparently more downforce.

The start is probably a shitty clutch and they just can't get it right
as opposed to how Renault did.
IMO, he is simply trying too hard. Maybe it's the pressure from the
media or not being able to meet his own expectations or whatever, but
he is making too many mistakes and simply can't find the groove..

Yea, it's the car...maybe Jacques would trade him for his Sauber, since it is so
much faster than the Williams. Face it, unless he picks up his game and has a
race or two near the front, he will be considered a fluke.

Taking it over the year after Alonso had impressed so much in it, he
also did things with it that should have been physically impossible.
Not as well as he did at Jaguar where he destroyed Pizzonia's reputation.

Indeed, once again qualifying the car well above its true potential, but
simply not able to keep it there during the race.

Which seems to be what is happening again.

I also understand that he had to reduce revs towards the end of the
race.

If anybody at Williams is under pressure it should be Sam Michaels, Not the
drivers!
The FW27 just isn't up to it as of yet. Plus there were rumours at San
Marino that Williams want Gascoyne.
I would say finishing 9th and 10th is pretty much where Williams are at the
moment, 5th/6th best team following:
Ferrari, Renault, Mclaren (bit of a unknown package), BAR, Toyota.
Get your act together Williams.

I think you're being a little over-generous to Mark (understandable
enough as it's some time since the last Aussie DWC). I'm beginning to
think he's not future DWC material at all, regrettably...

Too many - and most of them on-camera.
I can't stand the guy. He chops and blocks like a cheap MS imitation on
the track, and he's a complete Irvine gobshite off it.

As you say : a hack.

Theres probably young kids out there who had probably just been told to get
their fucking head out of the way the fucking telly.

looking at the rules Sato is allowed to be there (yep saving fuel) so long
as he doesnt impeed another driver, the next car has to get out on a green
light or they are penalized.

Yes, but there's a very important difference between what their peers say

Yes but so does Fisico and he's certainly done nothing to warrant
keeping the drive. F1 is a little short on champions right now.

A rough mental count suggests to me that Webber has lost perhaps as many as
20 points this year due to breakdowns in a very average performing car.
Those lost points (plus points that would then have been taken back from
other drivers who gained at his expense) would have him sitting in about 6th
in the drivers standings. That would have made him the best of the rest
behind the Two Ferraris, Renaults and McLarens at this stage of the season.
That's a pretty good effort I think.

Rosberg by comparison has done almost nothing but is hailed as then next
coming...I know his lost points due to DNF (if any) would probably mean he
would still be around 12th to 14th in the standings.

Tim

One of the dumbest posts. Fyi, a driver is only as good as his car. If the
car is slow and unreliable, he can't win races - especially in this day and
age where reliability is so high. Otoh, the best way to judge a driver's
worth - rather than a car's - is to look at the driver's performance
relative to their teammate. Webber has been exceptional in terms of
outgunning all of his teammates with the possible exception of Heidfeld.
