I watched Prost on MotorsTV driving a Viper GT. He struggled a bit with it; it's not exactly a car you finesse around the track...he came in fifth I believe. Race was won by a black Saleen, which had been dicing with a Maranello throughout. The Vipers were significantly slower than those two, even with AP at the wheel... -- ric ric at pixelligence dot com

The Viper is geriatric, in race-car terms, although is very popular in French GTs. A well-developed and driven Saleen or Ferrari should trounce it! The Saleen is far closer to a Group C or GTP than to most road cars, and the 550/575 have been honed over a period of years by the likes of Prodrive. I'm sure Alain is still a bit rusty, but I reckon he's not "lost it". He and Jabouille managed 6th and 4th in the two races.
