Michelin under investigation.

Peter 3 April 2005 21:31:39
The FIA are carefully studying the Michelin tyres after today's race in
order to formulate a mid season rule change to reduce Michelin's
competitiveness and get Ferrari back to the front.

IF true I think the story would be to prevent possible "bending" of
what they MEANT to have in the rules.
Kind of like a few years ago when Michelin decided that the shoulders
of the tire were okay to run on, Ferrari and Bridgestone complained
and the rule was "clarified".

Sounds unlikely considering Ferrari ARE back at the front, once they get the
new car tested properly.

Maybe they should have got it tested properly before the season began like
everybody else (well, except Minardi).

well to me they seem to be a real thing to worry.....sadly.....
I would'nt cry if they can't even finish one GP this year :-)....but I don't
think this will happen...
they probably be up in front next GP.

I think they wanted time to design it properly. And it does look like being
the best car on the grid now...

Fairly novel way of spelling "Michelin, at the behest of their ratbag
primary clients, built their tires wider than the rules allowed".
Ferrari and Bridgestone complained

...And rightly so.
and the rule was "clarified".

"Enforced".

you are talking about ferrari right? How is a car that was lapped today
considered the best car on the grid?

Ferrari is mostly definitely back, no doubt about it. Bridgestone however
most definitely is not and they're not going to win anything unless they get
better tyres.

Baricello did great fighting back up the field for as long as his tyres
allowed it. After that, he had to resort to finishing the race driving like he
was in a morning commute to work.

Schumi knew very well his tyres were about to die on him and opted to go out
with a bang with some spectacular driving before the inevitable happened and
he had to give up.

At least they showed they have a very fast, capable cars and drivers.. But
without Bridgestone shaping up, none of that will matter.

Cheers,
Chanchao

Where you watching the same race?!!!
Schumi went out with tranny problems, and Rubens "probably" had them
too!

Its amazing the stranglehold on Max and Bernie and how they instruct
the Formula Italia team to finish when there are compromising pics of
them from a few years ago on the verge of publication (allegedly)

tee hee
