Three clangers from the world's worst sports commentator:

"Fisichella is not carrying more fuel than is Alonso" (sic)

"In the pits there is no anything action" (sic)

"Red Bull are welcome in to F1 in all senses of the word"

There was also a real overuse of the word 'jump' in place of over take.
Eg "Kimi jumped Webber and Montoya" (leading me to believe KR's antics off
the track were a lot more scandalous than initially thought).

ITV need to make sure the advert for his replacement has
'ability to form coherent sentences in English' in its requirements list.

I only ask that he keeps his pie hole shut until the cars hit the first bend.
His shouts drown out the start, it's his phoney way of generating excitement.

Klee-enn. The vowels are separated so that "ie" isn't pronounced "AY"
like it is in Fraysacker.

I was happy enough that they have stopped him talking all over the radio
conversations.

I liked Brundles commentary after Alonsos engineer had said he would take
.02 out of the rear tyres.
" they're going to take .2 BAR out of the tyres, that's quite a lot"
then a bit later he said "I'm a bit deaf like most race drivers" NSS made me
laugh.

He was obviously a bit upset about the papers saying DC was on "pocket
money" wages too. Did it cause DC credit problems or something?

You should have heard the mangling done by various commentators on the
Sebring 12hrs coverage whenever they mentioned your namesake Ryan
Dalziel. They seemed to change the pronunciation with every lap!

Someone put a reminderup about 5-Live next race. I keep forgetting to try
it.

Well I have tried it for a qualifying session last season and for a couple
of races when abroad but I forget it if I don't need it.

Make a nice change to hear some different cliches and murryisms.

As always... ;-)

Spent a very pleasant day with Julia in London on Saturday, collected a
nice secondhand guitar amp which I bought on eBay, left the car parked
free of charge on Clapham Common and we got the tube into the city.
Delightful lunch in a Thai/Japanese restaurant in Chinatown, then an
hour or so in the National Gallery, finally a pleasant couple of hours
watching the street artists in Covent Garden. Home to bed, up early on
Sunday morning to watch the race.

So I look forward to Fridays with great anticipation...

Damned if I can remember. However if you go into Chinatown via the main
gated entrance it's about 150 yards on the right. The only restaurant
in the whole street which does Thai, Japanese and Chinese, each with
it's own chef.

We went for one of the set meals, £35 for two. It was a mixture of
sushi and sashimi as a starter, then a mixed plate of seafood and
vegetables in tempura batter, then a thai red curry with a plate of
sesame prawn toast, deep-fried soyacakes (pretty flavour-free, but OK
dipped in sweet sauce) and some sort of chicken wrapped in banana
leaves.

Very nice, washed down with Kirin beer!

Sounds rather excellent. So far, my favourite restaurant in Chinatown is
the New World, which is off to the right if you're standing looking at
the main gated entrance, but I think I'll be heading to that one next
time...
