Oh, goodie. They've "upgraded" the code at formula1.com.
"Please wait.." is the prominent feature now.. :-/

Excellent upgrade, it's working really well here too. :(

The pennicle of motorsports and they cant even afford a decent live timing
page. Even the bankrupt and busted CART series has enough brains to give
it's fans a good live timing page. BE's buttcheeks are squeeking..

You must not be using formula1.com's timing. It was out for over half of the
2nd q session. Also the lack of actual times and general info is a joke..

Err... Russell, Frank is in OZ.

Any case, didn't work in Germany either. Kept getting "Please Wait..."
on my system and I have only ever once had that before and that was when
the live timing was new.

 Hee Hee.
I turned the computer on at work 5 minutes before Qual and by the time it
had down loaded Java Qual was 3/4 over. Funny thing is, it did come up with
"Please Wait", but I thought it was just because Java was running for the
first time, so I rebooted the computer and everything was perfect so I
thought nothing more of it.
I was actually in the middle of watching the second race of the V8Supercars
live at the time so wasn't too worried..

My PC is pretty good, it can bottom post and show post headers too.
As for the live timing, i must have fooled the commentary into
believing that they had to apologize twice(that i saw) for the
problems with the timing screen.. Cool huh.

How fucking much does it cost to have a nerd behind a computer type in the
times? Even Nascar has a better website for live timing.

No body actually types anything, it's linked to the transponder driven race
timing system. I haven't experienced too much trouble viewing it in the past,
so I wonder if it was more of a network traffic issue at the website?

Could be .. I've found it exceptionally stable and
very fast .. most times, I see the timing and scoring
within a second of it being reported on television.

Since Speed Channel runs their pre-race show at the time qually begins and
runs it delayed, I've given up on live timing.

Haven't you guys heard about high speed, broadband digital TV
network using high quality video coding and efficient real-time
P2P distribution? Works like a charm, irrespective of your
current location, be it yankeeland or the true blue ozieland.
You just need to find the right sources mate!

If you tell Bernie, he might do a service like this for all sessions
