 ...What's *this* crispy critter smoking?

10 March 2005
F1Racing.net
Ferrari in decline - Button
Ferrari's day of dominance may be over, according to Jenson Button.
BAR's English driver said winter testing and the Australian grand prix
indicate a 'clear downward trend' for the scarlet champions. "And it's
not just because of the new rules," he told an interview with
Germany's Bild.

And, although his own team didn't shine at Albert Park - and JB tried
to switch to another unimposing outfit last season - 25-year-old
Button said he wouldn't necessarily join the Prancing Horse if Jean
Todt came knocking. He insisted: "I want to be where I can be world
champion.

"If Ferrari were to no longer offer that possibility, then it would
appear less attractive an option."

Someone remind me: Where'd Button and BAR finish in the Aussy GP?

Seems JB has not only taken over from Coulthard as No.1 British driver but
also as No.1 Dreamer.

Blimey, he should know "its only testing". Evidence does not yet support his
statement - it all hinges on how good the F2005 is going to be and its
unlikely to be slower than the F2004M now is it Jense...??? That said I
don't think there is any dout that Ferrari are going to have to work much
harder this year.

Given that the sentence starts with the word "IF" then its not an illogical
thing to say

In a car he didn't want to be in?

I.

I think this shows a lack of maturity on the part of JB. He seems to
think that the responsibility for developing a championship winning car
rests solely with the constructor and that he need only hop in and drive
it to victory.

Wasn't the above from "Bild"?

If so, I don't think it shows a lack of maturity on the part of JB but
more like a lack of accurate reporting on the part of "Bild".
