The cost of this years V10 was supposedly going to double if the Jaguar sale didn't go ahead, they need a second team with their engine to subsidise the R&D cost.

What's in the pipeline now is probably good enough to see a team through to '06, but I think Kalkhoven and Forsythe were more interested in getting hold of Cosworth to keep Champcar viable.
