Smarmy Jim gives away Qualy 2 results [UK]

Philip K 7 March 2005 03:48:48
OK, I know that Qualy 2 was never going to change the grid order, but
after getting up at 2am on a promise that ITV would show highlights of
Qualy 2, was I the only one hacked off that Smarmy Jim gave away who was
on pole _before_ they showed the (incredibly brief!) highlights?!

Not only that, but he seems to think that F1 fans also give a toss about
football or cricket - will he never learn?

Martin Brundle seemed quite subdued - none of the incisive comments or
witty one liners that he is capable of. Perhaps working with the
dreadful James Allen has taken the edge off?

Best commentator of the day was Murray Walker, even if it was on the
review of 10 years of Melbourne - reminds me how much I miss him, and
how he could make even a procession like yesterday seem exciting!

It wasn't already obvious?

This F1 fan likes cricket; however this F1 fan is no longer fan enough
to stay up till stupid am to watch it live, and they didn't trail the
cricket on the afternoon replay (although I missed the first 10 mins).
However, I couldn't give a toss about football ;)

He won our quote of the day award for his opening words on the grid walk
- "This is going to be some kind of motor race!" - yes Martin, we hope so!

I missed that, too.
