T-5 Trans Assembly

Johnny 12 February 2005 07:08:29
 Need a little help!
What position should the syncro's be in when installing shift forks?
When I put the forks&cover on, I can't position the shift rod to install the
roll pin.
I must have something wrong!
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Can't remember if it was the T5 or not.... I do recall one of the baby
transmissions from school... while the blocker rings appear identical for
some of the speed gears, there were subtle differences. IIRC, assembly of
the trans was done with all gears in neutral.

Ping Erik D. I think he's torn apart and put back together T5's in his
sleep. Might also want to check out a couple of the videos and books on
rebuilding your T5... I think Hanlon Motorsports sells stuff like this.

Sorry I wasn't here when you posted this. Glad you figured it all out
by yourself though, it always feels better when you figure things out.
For future reference and anyone else who is wondering, its supposed to
be in neutral. Its been about a year though since I did one. BTW, the
first time I did it, I used the hanlon motorsports video, that thing was
a great great great huge help.
