Cold air coming through hand brake opening

 I have a 2000 GT 'vert and only this winter have noticed cold air
coming in through the handbrake opening. Is there a way to block this
off somehow? Did some insulation get loose somewhere?

 there is a seal around the bottom of the shaft where the cable comes up,
yours probally got brittle and broke over the summer.new seal from ford
about $18.00 a good peice of old inner tube and some pop rivets would work
also, if you do it your self remove the console, its to brittle to work
around.
