And what's wrong with this 'group' and the myriad of existing other
groups out there already? As it stands, I have to visit four or five
different groups/sites just to participate in highway-related discuss-
ions... is another one going to help?

Later,
Chris

Umm, I hate to sound an alarm, but this new troll sounds an awful lot
like our late unlamented you-know-who from Michigan. Just a first
impression. It's obvious from his two initiated threads that the
pointlessness is pretty much the same. I mean, "come to my new group"
but no mention of where to access it? Sounds like his fake roadgeek
meetings.

Where did you create this group?

It is in Google groups called "All Things State Highway." It has one
post, from this guy yesterday hailing his "inaugrial" [sic] post. The
post contains nothing but one sentence. You must be a member to post to
the group. It is worth ignoring totally at this point.

I am not from MI, but from MA. I am a true roadgeek, and have loved
highways since I was two years old. You are, however allowed to express
your opinion. I guess I will have to take the group down.

Prolly incognito, since he dumped Yoko Ono, and she means to eat his SPLEEN.

Hate to rain on your parade down 14 Mile Road through downtown Wixom,
Michigan, Kevin, but here's this poster's WHOIS profile. That ain't
Metro Detroit, there, unless the Department of Defense has decided to
move to cheaper rent somewhere on Cass Avenue...

As have most of us here -- you ARE in like-minded company here, even
if it might not seem so.
You are, however allowed to express your opinion.

As you are allowed to do as well. Please, by all means, discuss what-
ever you'd like to -- it's much encouraged!
I guess I will have to take the group down.

If you want to create a group of your own, by all means, do that. BUT,
what I think Kevin is expressing is that we already have several
places to discuss the topics your group seems to be aiming for and,
because of that, you may find very little traffic. Also, please bear
in mind we had a USENET troll here recently who liked to screw around
with people and your first few posts sounded a bit too much like his
for some people's comfort. Now that we've pretty much proven that
you're not that troll, please, feel free to join in any discussions
here or start your own! You don't HAVE to take your group down, but
on the same token, don't be suprised if you don't get too much traffic
over there.

But, as my post from the other day attempted to note (not very well,
I'm afraid), there are already several well-established online forums
for the discussion of state highways -- several Yahoo! groups, this
particular USENET group, etc. -- so it might be better for you to
join in here than to create yet another forum.

In any event, welcome.

Later,
Chris

Thanks for the info. From his first few posts, it seemed they were all
in the category of "What's up with these stupid highways in Maine?" or
"How 'bout them stupid Vermont road signs?" and "I have formed a new
members-only group and the only post in it so far is welcome." I mean,
this isn't an invitation to discuss anything; it's just silly
rampblings. Hey, on second thought, maybe he fits right in!
