US 8 Realignment in Cameron WI

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will host a public
information meeting regarding the realignment of US 8 in the Cameron area.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cameron High
School, 750 South 1st Street in Cameron.

The meeting will follow an informal, open house format. Project staff will
be on hand to answer questions and to discuss approximate right of way
impacts to adjacent residents and properties.

The proposed project includes extending US 8 to the east from its current
intersection with County SS south of Cameron and reconnecting the new
section of US 8 with the existing highway just east of Cameron. An
interchange would replace the current intersection of US 8 and County SS.

It looks like this is the long-planned eastern half of the Cameron bypass.

I'm very glad they're putting in an interchange at CTH SS. I just hope
Cameron is not going to muck up the bypass with bad zoning.
