What a completely unAmerican sentiment.

Depends on your definition of "right."

A law permitting slavery would not be morally right.

However, a law prohibiting speeding has no morality attached.

Why fight a ticket if you're guilty?

If the cop cites you for 60 and your speedometer said you were going 55, then by
all means fight it. But if he gets you for doing 75 in a 55 zone and you know
you were speeding, take your medicine.

It's a stupid law prohibiting a victimless act, only on the books
because of busybodies.

Victimless only until someone kills another motorist by speeding.

Nobody has ever been killed by speeding. Driving too fast for
conditions, perhaps, but that is a whole separate issue. "too fast for
conditions" may mean faster than the speed limit, or slower, or *much*
faster, depending. The speed limit is not in any way related to safety,
it's just a tax guide.

I didn't *say* I was practicing civil disobedience. I was responding to
another's claim that they were doing so.

Exactly. Of course, this is anathema to the DIG crowd.

Famous last words.

No, it's wordsmithing from a DIG motorist.

Here's a hint; people die every day on perfectly dry roads in broad
daylight because they drove too fast for their ability to control
their vehicle.

Which has nothing to do with the speed limit. For a while there, you
were acting like you were capable of rational thought an logical
discussion, my prior impression of you as a fucking idiot has been
confirmed however.

Sounds like I hit a nerve of yet another DIG motorist, revealing that
his attempts to conduct a civilized discussion is simply a false face
he can't hide behind for very long.

You're a speeder, and if you don't like the label, change your
behavior.

Another DIG joins Khokar in the killfile.

Isn't it ironic that you claim that I'm in your killfile? I know for a
fact you responded to one of my posts in this very thread several days
ago.

Face it, we are better drivers than you because we have the capability
of choosing safe speeds without having to have speed limits "for every
occasion," as John Lansford has stated in the past.

Actually, I've said that trying to post speed limits for every
situation is unrealistic, which is why there is one that covers most
conditions.
