 Thought I'd delurk to post this tidbit. While driving toward downtown
Detroit on the John C. Lodge (M-10) Freeway this afternoon, I'd noticed
an exit tab sign with an exit number! This is somewhat surpising to me;
as far as I know, M-10 has never had exit numbers. The freeway is over
50 years old in someplaces and even after the U.S.10 designation was
decommisioned to M-10, the state did not install mile markers or exit
numbers. But, now suddenly they're there.

I entered the freeway from Livernois Ave., on Detroit's northwest side
and noticed an exit 8 for the Linwood exit. I thought I was seeing
things or it was a sign goof. The M-8 Davison exit did not have a sign
at all, but the next exit, I believe Elmhurst Ave. was labled exit 6c.
Only the exit signs at the gore point of the freeway is labled. There
are no exit tabs on the BGS's or any milepost that I could see.

Not all exits are labled either. The Chicago Blvd. exit is not.
Pallister Ave is labled exit 5A, I think. Grand Blvd is 4C. Westbound
I-94 is 4A, but ebd is not signed. Warren/Forest is exit 3, Grd River is
exit 2C, but the Fisher Fwy (I-75) and Bagley are not signed. Howard St.
is 1C. The last two exits, for Joe Louis Arena and Larned St. aren't signed.

I'm going to drive the Lodge Fwy this afternoon to check out the nbd
lanes and drive the entire length to see how far MDOT has worked. Oh,
also the exit signs have the number tabs attached to the top of the old
signs. It is not a new sign.
