 Just another reminder of the upcoming Eastern Kentucky/Central Appalachian
Roadgeek meeting:

WHEN: Saturday, May 21, noon EDT
WHERE: Reno's Roadhouse, US 23 north, Pikeville, KY (Coal Run Village area)

After lunch, we'll tour the new and completed construction along US 119
(Corridor L) between Pikeville and South Williamson. This 30-mile stretch of
road has been four-laned over the course of the past 20 years and the final
portions are now under construction. This is an excellent opportunity to view
the challenges of mountain roadbuilding.

There are a number of other roadgeekly things in the area that attendees can
visit as part of solo side tours if they wish, including the Pikeville Cut-Thru,
Pine Mountain crossing into Virginia near Jenkins, reconstructed Pine Mountain
crossing on US 119 near Whitesburg, US 460 Corridor Q construction south of
Pikeville, Cumberland Gap Tunnel and other features.

The RSVP address is kyroadgeekreply@yah­oo.com and I hope to hear from everyone
by the Wednesday prior to the event, so I can reserve a table at the restaurant.
I'll also be e-mailing maps of the tour area to the RSVP'ers prior to the
meeting.
