Beings my nickname is weave, I have always been fond of the "weave area"
signs on I-95 around Chester, PA area.

I looked for the sign in the MUTCD but didn't find it listed. I did some
google searches and found this interesting and fairly recent letter from
the Colorado DOT to the US DOT proposing to test a "weave area" sign that
looks nothing like the above one.

Makes me wonder if PennDOT did the same and why there's no real standard
for this sign yet.

That sign also appears on the C/D lanes of I-79 at the new Cranberry
Connector Interchange with the Turnpike, and on I-279 on the Fort Pitt
Bridge in Pittsburgh.

With the one in Pennslvania, I-95 NB is the thru highway - 3 lanes
wide. US 322 EB enters from the left, barely has an acceleration lane,
and to continue EB you have to cut over 3 lanes of traffic to exit on
the right, about 1/4 mile later.
