 Yes I know what today is and I wish I had the pictures to back this one
up. The weather was awesome on Thursday so with it being the last day
of my long break from work, I decided to seize the opportunity and take
a road trip.

Drove to Cambridge, Ohio and discovered the low price for gas. The
Pilot station located at the intersection of I-77 and I-70 advertised
regular unleaded at 7.9¢/gallon. As a matter of fact, the sign was
displayed as follows:

Regular .079 Plus .179 Diesel .259

Okay, reality check. Their sign cannot handle anything above 1.99. So
they showed the price without the agonizing "2." I would figure this is
illegal to advertise a price like this. Locally, the Go Marts would
take the price off the sign and display a blank sign much like most
stations did when gas when to three digits in 1979. They've fixed the
sign to accomodate the $2+ prices. Now most stations are equipped to go
to $9.99. We're gonna need a bigger sign or a smaller car. Or a good
rickshaw. Happy April Fools' everyone.
