not totally related, but you appear to live in that area, and I at one
time lived in Isle of Wight county... first traffic light on the south
side of the James River Bridge, actually...

has VDOT ever done anything about the northbound James River Bridge? The
last time I was over it, it was rippled quite badly, making for a bouncy 5
mile ride across it.

I'm stationed in Norfolk, live in Virginia Beach (when I'm not
underway, at least). First traffic signal south of JRB is no longer at
US 258, BTW...:o)

When I lived there it was road 669 if memory serves. I was youngish at
the time, but I remember asking my parents if we had somehow mysteriously
crossed into NJ because of VA's shield for the .. what are they called..
secondary roads.

If you ever went to the Rescue Marina, you may have seen me :-)­
