Mencken (1880-1956) It shouldn't deploy if she was going reverse- my guess she shifted to going forward at some point and ran into a wall/tree. Also, the airbag is only suppossed to deploy if the car is hitting another object with alot of force (it shouldn't deploy in a fender-bender). One thing about older couples in Florida- sometimes the wife has much less driving experience. Apparrently way back then women drove much less, some not at all.
