LLB moves over

Alexander Rogge 6 March 2005 05:46:03
On a 4-lane divided roadway, which is a 100 km/h zone, an LLB decides
not to try blocking the passing lane anymore. Traffic is approaching
two slower vehicles in the right lane, a minivan and a truck. The
minivan driver behind the truck drifts into the passing lane and starts
a rolling roadblock. The first driver approaching the truck in the
right lane moves into the passing lane and tries to pass. The minivan
driver won't get out of the way, and continues matching the speed of the
truck. The driver now being delayed by the LLB tries the standard stuff
- left blinker, horn... nothing. The minivan driver continues at the
same speed, about 75 km/h, staying close to the left shoulder. Then the
truck driver begins speeding up, which leaves a small gap between the
minivan and the truck. As the minivan driver begins accelerating to
catch up to the truck, the blocked driver uses part of the right lane
and moves toward the gap. Staying in the passing lane as if the minivan
wasn't there, the driver out-accelerates the minivan, returns to the
standard lane position in front of the now scared minivan driver,
completes the pass, and returns to the right lane. The minivan driver
honks briefly, but then decides to move out of the passing lane. Why
does it take this kind of action to get these idiots to stop wanting to
block traffic?

Because most LLBs are passive aggressive control freaks. They seek to be
in control. When someone confronts them and is willing to push them far
enough they'll back down.
