Obey the speed laws and you won't have all these "problems".

And people think I'm some kind of macho freak for wanting 400
horsepower...
At the last possible moment he decides he can change lanes behind me >(since the rest of the stacked up traffic had moved right to exit)>instead of in front of me and he dashes across the lanes to the right.

Lucky for him you decided not to sink to his level by slowing down and
forcing him to miss his exit. :)

Next time, just do it. I know I would have. It won't change his
opinion of 'Chicago drivers' much and it *might* teach the SOB a
lesson. I have to live among those LLB morons up here. The more who
*learn* what happens when they LLB, the better.

So I decide, screw it. He's got WI plates, state of LLBs. I just stay> in the middle lane next to him since I can't pass. I figure he> probably doesn't want to be on 41. That's hilarous, considering what he just finished doing to you.
Heck,I'd be adjusting my speed, doing my best to insure he ended up on the
wrong road.

I did it to one some time ago. This time something in the back of my head
said to let him go at the last moment. I had matched him until he reduced
speed by braking.

The big problem is if I do it, I have to miss my exit and go out of my
way. I don't want to be stuck at the light with them. (my exit is the
first one off 41 after the split)

You forget the LLB dislodging technique of slowing down, waiting until
the LLB falls back with you, and then punching it through the gap
before the LLB has a chance to react.

It takes power to pull it off, but it's usually quite effective.
