engine misfire....getting closer!!

 Popped some gas in at the station, it was misfiring when pulled in, wanking
back to the car i noticed a puddle, im talking lesss than a minute and drip
drip drip, took a look and when i took off the K&N filter i saw pure liquid
fuel from the 1st barrel come out, ran out........

drip drip, took a look and when i took off the K&N filter i saw pure liquid
fuel from the 1st barrel come out, ran out........

Its the solex twin side draughts. I left the Haynes manual in the car for
the garage for the clutch, now they forgot to put it back in the car, so i
cant get it until next.

If anyone knows about carbs, what would the reason be for fuel to come out,
obviously blocked( or gasket/seal damage?), but im not up on these carbs. I
wil fone a place tomorrow, Chatsworth Motor spares in Sheff someone said
maybe able to help with parts.

probably just a tiny bit of grit or similar in one of the needle valves
(control fuel level) however the effect would be a rich mixture which would
not usually cause a misfire as such.

probably the lid unscrews revealing the float and needle valve.

It feels exactly like what you say, i will take a look when i get the maual
