I got some AUTO GLYM Intensive Tar Remover. It says on it that it can> remove wax, and it did. The plastics seem more shiny too. In some> cases it did take a bit of rubbing, but eventually it came out!>
Yea, but Methylated spirits will do just the same.

Panel wipe from a paint supplier is pretty good and shouldn't damage any
car plastics. About a tenner for 5 litres.

I've used it in my screenwash at dilution rates of up to 50% for
over 30 years now and not had a problem :-)­

Heh heh - the intensive wash reservoir on my BMW was leaking,and it took
off the paint underneath right down to the metal. But it's just base coat
under the bonnet - no lacquer.
