 Months ago, we organized a spring trip to Martha's Vineyard, a great little
island off the coast of Massachusetts. Wouldn't you know we would get hit
by a gale that dumped more than an inch of rain, blew 40-60 mph for three
days straight, and never let the sun through once! Our group included two
'41 Commanders, a '41 Champ coupe, a '54 Starliner, a '56 Golden Hawk, a '57
Golden Hawk, a '62 GT Hawk custom, two Wagonaires, and a PT cruiser (they
decided a 1916 open touring car was not a good idea in the storm). Our host
at the hotel just got his '63 Avanti back from a fabulous restoration by Bob
Munter at WCD Garage in Northboro, MA. Bob owns and restored the '51
Starlight coupe that won a 1st at Charlotte last year; he brought his '41
Commander on the trip. In spite of the awful weather, we had a great time.
The one unfortunate incident was having a local roll out of a side road into
the front fender of the '56 Golden Hawk. Anyone have an excellent C-K left
front fender, left grille, wheel well trim, and fender spear? Here are some
pictures of the weekend.
