If I'd like to talk to smb in real life, how do I learn who lives near me?

Its FMIC planning time, any advice accepted.

Sleeker GT Phwoar 5 May 2005 15:40:34
Time to start planning the FMIC install on my 1990 ST185 GT4/AllTrac/AWD
Turbo. Will eventually be adding an MBC/Grainger/Dawes device to the
setup to up the boost a little, but only once I know I have the charge
sufficiently cooled.

While currently I have the standard top mounted air2air intercooler,
that after 15 years and 140k miles is starting to get a bit battered,
and is starting to suffer from heatsoak.

A quick fix would be an IC fan, spraybar or Water Injection.
But they would be overcomplicated, require additional maintenance
(checking and filling the injection/sprayer tank) and add weight and in
the case of the fan, maybe even restrict IC flow when moving and make
extra noise.

So I've decided to go for a front mount solution.

I have the standard bumper instead of the Carlos Sainz or RC/Type A
bumper, which means I may be limited to a long thin IC instead of a tall
one.

It needs to have roughly 2-2.25" intakes, as the throttle body is 2.25"
and the turbo outlet is 2", so rather than go for the biggest pipes and
use reducers, I want to keep everything roughly the same diameter
throughout for smooth flow.

As the stock A2A IC is so small, was considering either a standard IC
from a Classic Saab 900 (intakes at the same end of the IC), MK3 Supra
(again with intakes at the same end), New Generation Saab 900/early 9-3
(cross flow, very short but wide with little depth), or possibly an IC
from a Landrover Turbo Diesel.

This is all going to be mounted infront of the Rad , and joined using
2" truck coolant hose bends, and once finalised, where visisble, Silicon
bends + 2" exhaust tubing (probably mild steel rather than stainless for
cost reasons, although if I can find it aluminium would be lighter).

I know some this might sound a little ghettobuilt, but it really will be
a JY build, right down to the sourcing of the IC, as cost is the biggest
issue.

So any advice accepted.
