Online buying resources

Subba Rao 21 April 2005 06:21:00
 Hello,

I am looking to buy a car using online resources. In the past I toyed
with eBay site but I am becoming more disappointed with the search
options. I would like to search used car sales to list if the car is a
salvaged car and if it from a private owner or a dealer. These options
are not available on eBay. Instead I have to manually click at each of
the cars listed which is grueling.

Are there any other online resources that will allow me to search with
the above options?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Regards,

I'm not sure I understand: you want an option of a search engine
displaying only the cars that are salvaged, or the ones that are sold
by private party. While I can understand the latter, I can't even
begin to figure out why you'd want to buy a salvaged car.

As far as searching for cars that are sold by private parties as
opposed to dealers, the best source is www.craigslist.com

Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I must apologize for my typo. I>do not want a salvaged car. I want a clear title and from a private party.

You can always ask the private party whether the car's been salvaged
or had any other title issues. If they say "yes", you can move on to
the next car. If they say "no", you can verify whether it's true with
Carfax.com. It's not like you need to sift through a large volume of
decent used cars and want an automated way of reducing this volume. In
my experience searching for used cars, you'd be lucky to see more than
a couple that warrant a follow up with the owner.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I must apologize for my typo. I
do not want a salvaged car. I want a clear title and from a private party.

Thank you once again.

Actually, Carfax can help you locate a low mileage car with a clean
record - once you purchase the first report, CarFax lets you run as
many reports as you like for 30 days, and they will give you a list of
local cars for sale matching the specs of the report you purchased.
