 These are the brakes with the cams at both ends of the shoes. :-(­ I
adjusted per the book but am still not happy with braking. Kinda soft. I
was going to use my suction pump thing to pull air out of each wheel cyl.,
should there be a few bubbles. Otherwise is it just a matter of slight
drag on each cam? Thanks!

 Hold it !.....I miss these old Champ tech questions. If
you just replaced the shoes, you probably did not have them "arced" for
true fit in the drums. It's an old way of "sizing" the shoes to the
drums...Very seldom done these days. If that's been done in this
case(s)...this is a FYI......What's happening if the shoes were not
sized, is that only a small amount of braking-surface area is meeting
the drum(s). Really, only the ends of the shoes will meet the drum.
It will take a feww thousand miles of mixed driving to "set" them
correctly...Til then, braking will be compromised
