Golden Hawk dash

Robert Black 2 May 2005 21:51:16
Anyone got a Hawk dash with the holes for vaccuum and the clock, just the
fiberglass part, not the gauges, unless you have a nice vac and clock.I may
have to take the dash out of my 60 Hawk again, and I might as well swap it
for the full dash if ones available.

The Hawk dashes I've seen,( '56, '57 & '61), had holes for the clock and
vac/press gauge in the fiberglass. The holes weren't in the "metal"
overlay, unless equipped with the gauges.
I thought the smaller radio cutout on the '58 and up dashes was nicer.
You didn't need the large radio bezel with them.

I have one if Pat's doesn't work for you. It's from a 56J; you might
want to hold out for a 57-58 unit as IIRC the heater control or
something was different.

As someone else said, though, I don't see why you don't just get a big
hole saw and cut the holes out yourself if you want more gauges.

The wiper switch on '57 and up is a slider, to match the heat control, on
the other side of the steering column. It's a toggle switch on the '56.

Are the glove box door locks all the same? I have a modded dash from a 62
maybe and need the lock.
