New Boss Cleans House (Joke: OT)

Guest 2 May 2005 06:46:32
Corporate hires a new, hard-nosed manager to turn around a small
manufacturing company.

First day on the job, manager is determined to show everybody that
slackers will not be tolerated and everyone had better shape up.

One of the Foreman takes him on a tour of the factory floor. On tour,
the new manager spots a guy leaning against a wall. 'Figures this will
be a good chance to show everyone he means business.

He approaches the guy and gruffly bellows, "Hey, you, how much do you
make a week?" The guy says, "About $300."

New manager reaches in his back pocket, pulls out his wallet, and hands
the guy $1,200 cash. With that he says, "You're fired! Here's 4 weeks'
severance pay. Get the hell out of here and never come back!" The guy
leaves.

A few minutes later, the new manager asks his tour foreman, "Who was
that guy I just fired? Has he always been that lazy?"

The Foreman/Guide replies, "Well, I dunno; he was just here waiting to
get paid for delivering the Domino's Pizza!"

My F-I-L was working for the gas supplier and fixing a furnace at one
of the Coventry car factiores.
He was sitting on a step waiting for his assistant to finish installing
a new part when a factory big-wig came up and began chewing him out for
slacking off. He also chewed him out for wearing a non-standard pair of
coveralls.
He then stopped, looked at the coveralls and asked, "Do you work here?"

Obviously, this did not go unobserved by the crew there and Patrick got
a warm welcome from them on each visit thereafter.
