Any Studebaker historians???

Stude-Ious 29 April 2005 02:03:05
I just found a leaky roof in the back garage; a few hundred of my car mags
from the 50's and 60's got soaked, pretty much ruined. I'll have to throw
out most of them; but I checked a few of them and see quite a bit of Stude
stuff; eg July 57 Motor Trend....several pages on the "Complete story on
Curtiss-Wright, Mercedes-Benz, Studebaker-Packard get-together, and first
test of Studebaker economy car", also September '56 Sports Cars
Illustrated with an ed's note "As of 4 P.M. on July 11, we have known that
there will be a Mercedes-Benz plant in the United Satates and that....."
and it goes on about SP and CW etc., or "Track and Traffic" with 66 Stude
ads, or Jan 58 Sports Cars Illustrated with a full page ad for the
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL; anyway, there seems to lots of Stude references. I
assume that this stuff isn't particularly obscure or rare; I see lots of
these mags on ebay, anyone want any of this stuff scanned or photographed?
I'll dry out what I can, but most of it's too far gone. Too bad!

I have a fairly extensive magazine and manual collection myself,
because I like books, so I certainly feel your pain!
