C/K headliner question

Robert Black 26 April 2005 02:21:49
Do you really have to pull the front and rear glass to replace the
headliner? The ceiling in the 60 Hawk has one ugly hole, but the rest looks
good, except its rotten. The rest of the interior looks so darn nice, but Im
not pulling any windows now,Im to close to driving this thing. Its at that
point where its almost a driver, but everywhere you look it needs a little
something.

The operative phrase is "have to".. in a word- NO...
BUT... I won't put one in without pulling both the windshield, and the
rear glass. Some people are afraid of doing that- but it really is
pretty easy. I (and any other experienced glass-place), can put them
both in and out in a few hours...

IF you don't wish to pull the glasses... you'll have to live with your
headliner, It would be extremely difficult to get the headliner pulled
correctly without removing them.

I usually take a couple of days to install a headliner... But this
usually includes the windlace, new qtr window weatherstrips (they're
out- so why not), and various insundry things...such as dying the rear
door panels, cleaning the seats(I like to remove them), recovering the
armrests... etc...

I started to make up a webpage about Headliner installation....but I
never finished it completely... I needed to take a few more photos, and
add some more comments. But, it can be found here:
