 Does anyone know what the part number is for the 1" spacer used to make
the Edelbrock 600CFM fit the Stude manifold?

 The stacked heat insulator gasket is a Mr. Gasket p/n# 97, or an Edelbrock
p/n# 9266.

This isn't 1" thick though...but it will allow the secondary butterfly's to
clear a WCFB opening.

If you need a 1" thick spacer, use a Mr. Gasket #6005 (open center-
aluminum) , or a Mr. Gasket # 3404 (4 hole- phenolic).

Summit has a nice 4 hole aluminum 2" thick one for $19.95 p/n#SUM-G1411

 You stock on your 289?
I would only put a 600cfm on with an R1 cam.
It'll work all right....but the rule of carb's is 'think smaller'..

 MrGasket 98. Carburetor Heat Dissipator. Contains 4 gaskets and 3 alum.
spacers.
1/2" thick.
I have them in stock for $14.95 plus shipping. And since you are in Georgia,
plus tax.

 FYI...
The #97 is 1/4" thick and the #98 is 1/2" thick.

 Dave, if you are looking for the adapter to make the 600 (or any
AFB/Edelbrock) fit the WCFB manifold like the one I used on Maybelline it
is an aluminum adapter from Speedway motors, part # 1351935. For you guys
crowing about using the 600 on a stock 289, I completely agree; it's just
that Dave had the carb already so that's what we used on his application
if that's what he is referring to. In all my experiments on carburetion
(and I have done a ton of 'em) I have found that the winner HANDS DOWN for
a stock engine is the 500 CFM Edelbrock. Slight jet changes may be needed.
The 600 is a tad big for a stock engine and has a tendancy to bog or
"jolt" when the secondaries kick in. For a modified engine the 600 is OK
but the winner there is the AVS. An AVS from a 340 Mopar has small
primaries and garbage can lid secondaries but because of it's design, the
transition between primaries and secondaries is seamless...AND easily
adjustable. The small primaries give real crisp throttle response. Of
course, those are kind of hard to find and the new ones are pricey.
