62 Hawk GT: Interior aluminum trim questiion

Tony in Austin 17 April 2005 18:42:09
 Hello Everyone-
Here is my question: was the aluminum trim on the doors and dash in the
'62 Hawk anodized or clear coated? Or is mine just really dirty? The
trim I am talking about is the black dot patterned sections across the
dash, glove box, doors, and passenger area.
Not wanting to make too much noise for may neighbors this morning I
started cleaning a trim section. They all appear a bit yellowed.
One spot got really clean and shiny. I think I can see the edges of a
top coat. Or is that just a 40 year old crust?

Thanks Tony in Austin

If you polish it too much you'll rub off the black in the depressions.
You can only really clean them with something like glass or upholstery
cleaner.
