SPAM ELIMINATOR (OT)

Jim and Kathie Krise 11 April 2005 03:18:21
I FOUND THAT IF YOU CAN LOCATE THE FILE FOLDER CALLED "COOKIES" AND DELETE
ALL THE ENTRIES EXCEPT "INDEX", SPAM IS CUT NOTICEABLY.

IF YOU NOTICE WHEN YOU GET INTO THE COOKIES DIRECTORY, THERE ARE MANY,MANY
COOKIES THERE.

A COOKIE IS ACTUALLY A BUSINESS CARD YOU ARE CARRYING (IN YOUR COMPUTER) FOR
EVERYSITE YOU HAVE VISITED.

WHEN YOU LOG ONTO A SITE, THAT SITE CAPTURES ALL THOSE BUSINESS CARDS YOU
HAVE BEEN UNWITTINGLY CARRYING FOR OTHER SITES, AND COMPILES A LIST OF YOUR
INTERESTS.

THEN GUESS WHAT? YOU GET HAMMERED WITH SPAM.

Just keep in mind that if you do that it's also going to delete the
cookies from "friendly" websites, and you are going to have to reenter
password and whatever other information when you revisit the sites.

A better way to do this with WinXP is to go to.....

Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Disk Cleanup
(let it scan and clean up)
Then....
Right click on start...
Search...
Search for (put in box) *.tmp, *.chk
Look in C: (or my computer)
Then delete the temp and check files...
