OT- lost faith in Turbotax

Paul Johnson 4 April 2005 20:48:25
I was finishing up both my federal and state taxes using Turbotax. When I
completed the state part it had me paying over $600 plus penalties even
though I had made estimated payments per the vouchers printed from 2003
Turbotax. I went ahead and printed the forms (I can't tell much looking at
part of a form on the screen). I found that Turbotax had not deducted the
significant exclusion I get from retired military pay even though I had
entered it during the interview. I tried to go back to the interview to see
what happened and found that you can't do that once you have completed the
forms. So, I had to go in to the forms and manually make the changes which
I could have done without Turbotax in the first place. This annoyed me
because I got screwed out of the Turbotax rebate on the state form because I
bought them separately. So, I clicked on "feedback" on one of the pages and
explained the error. After it acknowledged sending it, the screen thanked
me because feedback is important to them, but they can't respond to feedback
messages.

I used it to file mine and everything went through perfectly... I even
re-entered the entire information just to make sure it came up the same the
second time. My return may have been a little more simple than yours
though. I bought my state separately and was able to get it refunded.
