Spring Time "Tighten Up" (64' ragtop)

Jbreen 3 April 2005 02:43:33
..I went out to replace power steering valve seals, only to find that
my return hose has a gash in it...Glad it's something simple.
As I was wiping things down I noticed the following items loose:
1) Reach rod-to-p.s. valve loose 2) "3" stabilizer bar mounting bolts
loose 3) "2" control arm bolts loose 4) "1" outer tie rod clamp loose
5) "1" hood hinge-to-body bolt loose. 6) "2" upper/
inner bushing bolts loose. Enough said....check your vehicle out..

You are so right. Its amazing the stuff you find loose or needing attention
on our old vheicals. There not as bad as old (pre-evo) Harleys, but stuff does
get loose if you use it a lot(and OCF can take it from here)

You are so right. I was prepping my 63 GT for the season, and noticed the
clutch linkage was awfully loose. Turns out that the bracket that bolts to
the side of the T-10 had one of its bolts missing, and the other one very
loose. I wouldn't have gone too many miles before the linkage fell off all
together.

Here's a picture of Jack's car "at speed" headed down I-495 from one of
meets in New England. I'm sure glad things didn't start falling off when
was right behind him!

Neat pic!

Wonder how much resistance the parachute affect of convertible tops offer?
<G>

I've owned two convertibles, and loved 'em both... except on those cold
winter nights, or when I wanted to talk to someone in the passenger seat
(with the top up.)
