Code 43

Ultimate_ness 5 April 2005 18:38:54
So I did a self diagnose on my 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme 3.4 and one
of the codes that came up was 43, and in the repair manual it said my
knock sensor could be faulty. I looked in the book again and it said
it was located in PCM box, it wasn’t there. I was wondering where it
could be located and if it could cause my car not to start up.

The knock sensor mounts to the engine. It has no effect on starting
the engine.

Hmmm, well my repair manual said it was located in the PCM module box
thing. I didn’t find it there. But I was also wondering what the
easiest way to take of my starter cause I took of the bolts but it
still won’t budge.

A Chiltons? Sounds like it might be misleading.

The ESC *filter* would be located in the PCM, that is part of the
MEMCAL and is encapsulated, so you likely couldn't do anything to it
if you wanted to. Aside from trying reseating it, but as the EPROM is
also a part of the MEMCAL, you'd likely have other TC's if that was
your problem.
