 When I look at a fiero trunk lid and see 2M4, that's supposed to mean
2 wheel drive, manual trans, 4 cylinder. Is it the same badge for an
automatic or should it say 2A4?

I always thought the M was for mid-engine -- if I can find my Fiero
Spotter's Guide, I'll check on it. I doubt it refers to transmission
though as I have several 2M4s, marked thusly and one is a stick and two
are automatics. And I think that the 2 is for passenger, but don't hold
me to it.

Yep it's 2 passenger
M mid engine
4 cly or 2M6 in the case of a V6

Yep it's 2 passenger> M mid engine> 4 cly or 2M6 in the case of a V6>
