 Alright...first I'd like to thank everyone with all they're tips and
suggestions. I finally "got 'er done". It turns out the wire going to the
starter selenoid was freyed right at the goose neck (near the top side of
the engine). I'm not sure what caused it, but looks almost like someone was
pulling on the wiring harness and maybe crushed it (then uncrushed without
fixing it), when they rebuilt the engine. I got my big back end under the
car and replaced that section. Turned the key and she cranked right up!

On the plus side, now I know where everything is under the hood (wiring
anyway) and quite a bit under the dash. I'm an electrical engineer and as
part of my toying around, I have some ideas I'm working on to make this a
custom with a new wiring harness (of my own design). I'm going to get all
of this up on my website eventually and post the link here. Hopefully,
someone else will learn from my experiences...good and bad...lol
