1996 Ford F150 reverse not working

 Hi folks

I have a 1996 F150, straight 6, with a 5spd manual trans. I'm
wondering if anyone knows how the reverse lockout mechanism
works...after I parked this today I lost the ability to shift into
reverse. All 5 forward gears work fine. Figured it might be the
reverse lockout mechanism malfunctioning....

Any ideas?
