I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS. The bottom radiator hose came off and the car ran hot. I had a mechanic to look at it and he re-clamped the hose. Two days later it ran hot again. I talked to three mechanics and was informed that the Thermostat needed to be changed out. When the mechanic arrived to install it, he said it was not the thermostat but the water pump. Once he put the thermostat on and it began to bleed, he said it should be okay and he was wrong. The car got me 20 miles and ran hot again. The mechanic who clamped the hose said it might be collapsing since the water was boiling back into the res once the car was warm. He then tells me that it is the waterpump. Since the Harmonic Balancer was going bad, he would not do the water pump unless that was changed as well because it was so wobbly and in bad shape. He changed the water pump, Harmonic Balancer, the bottom radiator hose and bled it. It ran well for 16 miles then ran hot again. He said the oil would look milky if the heads were blown but it did not look milky. He took out the thermostat but it did not change anything. I need to know if you can tell me why it would still be running hot.
