I purchased a 1979 Cordoba this past summer (less then 40K miles and no damage etc). When I checked the trunk under the carpet a little surface rust was present in two places, (no water) and the car was sitting outside for a couple of months (garaged before they decided to sell it). (It has the "moon" roof option if that means anything, I'm afraid to open it so who knows when it was last used.) No sign of water on the inside of the car. The car then sat at my brother in northern WI (outside)when I checked the trunk about a month later it was damp so I dried it out.... Took it to a automatic car wash (did an undercarriage spray as well) and ran it through, then check for water in the trunk.... none. Then it sat again for a period, this time my brother open the trunk to put the car cover box in the trunk and it was very wet. When I got over to check it there was some standing water, a very wet carpet and the humidity was such that everything in the trunk seemed wet. I looked at the trunk seal it looks fine.... just don't seem to see where the water comes in..... It has a car cover but it is not water proof and the car will have to set out this winter.... anyone have some experence with the older Chryslers/Dodges and trunk water? Ed
